Kitchen repaired and doorway closed off

The repeat customer in this house wanted the doorway from the kitchen to the utility room closed off and then the Kitchen repaired and fully plaster skimmed ready for decorating. We firstly removed the existing architrave and door jamb. Then came the task or removing the doorframe, which was held in place using long nails. After removing this carefully we made a new doorframe to sit in the doorway and secured to the walls and floor. Then the insulation was cut to size and inserted prior to securing the plasterboard with screws and dot and dab on both sides, creating a brand new wall. As the kitchen was previously tiled there was a lot of repair work to be carried out. We brought the walls level and filled and deep holes to creating a nice level surface ready for plaster skimming. We also had to replace the plasterboard that had been covering up the pipework as this was damaged too from tiling. We built new frames and secured in place before putting on new plasterboard. The entire room and the plasterboard wall in the utility room were then plastered perfectly as ever ready for decorating and having the new kitchen installed. Closing off the doorway and the boxing in closing made this a very enjoyable job and as ever was completed to the highest of standards.
